Trade Ministry Completes Third Food Basket Distribution

Iraq’s Trade Ministry said it has completed the third food basket distribution ahead of Eid al-Adha. An official said nationwide delivery had reached 95 percent and was expected to reach 100 percent during the day. The ministry said the distribution would ensure that all families receive the food basket before the holiday. It also reported that strategic stocks of basic food items are sufficient for three months and that supply chains to warehouses across the country are continuing regularly. A joint committee made up of security and planning bodies is conducting daily inspections to monitor market prices and prevent possible manipulation.
