Teacher found dead at home in Kelar; investigation opened

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq — Security forces in the Kurdistan Region said a teacher was found dead at his home in the village of Almarni, in the Kelar district of Garmian administration. The victim was identified as Shekar Abdullah Hamid, born in 1984. Investigators said the teacher lived alone, which delayed the discovery of his death. A team from the Garmian Crime Branch, forensic laboratory personnel and Kelar police were dispatched to the scene. Officials said the cause of death has not yet been determined and that forensic and investigative work is continuing. They added that final conclusions will be reached once examinations by the medical examiner and security units are completed. No further details were immediately available.
