BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Iraqi Football Federation has accepted the resignation of Cebbar Hashim as administrative director of the country’s youth national team. Federation vice president and national teams department director Mohammed Nassar said Hashim submitted a written resignation citing family circumstances that prevent him from continuing in his role.
The resignation will be formally submitted to the federation’s executive office for official approval. With the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers set to begin in Thailand later this month, Nassar said the federation has appointed Nedhim Karim, administrative director of the Olympic national team, to take charge on an interim basis.
Karim will oversee the administrative responsibilities of the youth national team and its coaching staff during the qualifying tournament. The federation said the appointment was made because of the limited time remaining before the qualifiers begin.
