Israeli Military Says It Killed Hamas Cell Leader in Northern Gaza

The Israeli military said on Wednesday that it had targeted and killed the head of a Hamas cell in northern Gaza. It did not provide further details about the operation or the identity of the person killed. The military also said Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir ordered an additional battalion to reinforce forces following events in the Nablus area. The army radio reported clashes between Israeli soldiers and settlers during the evacuation of a settlement outpost in Kusra, south of Nablus. WAFA reported that settlers had surrounded a house in the town for a fourth day. Sources quoted by the agency said the settlers had blocked the local road with stones and that the area is classified as Area B. Arabic media had also reported that Israeli forces raided Izna, west of Hebron, in the West Bank.
