BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, who also leads the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, met in Baghdad with a group of technocrats to review the course of political work and a national vision for state-building. Participants assessed the performance of a previous phase in which executive tasks and public service delivery were prioritized over political activity. The meeting produced agreement on a set of national principles, including institution-building, reinforcing the rule of law, consolidating weapons under state authority, resolving national issues through dialogue and upgrading essential services. In the economic sphere, participants said diversifying revenue sources and expanding oil export channels would strengthen financial stability and help address existing challenges. Sudani stressed confidence in the capabilities of young people, noting that the previous government had assigned many sovereign positions to young technocrats and citing the Ministry of Electricity as an example. He said support for youth must continue in the current phase, including through empowerment and placement in positions of responsibility. No further details on the meeting's participants or follow-up measures were immediately available.
