Sony stages Spider-Man promo event on Sao Paulo avenue ahead of July 29 release

SAO PAULO, Brazil — Sony Pictures held a promotional event on Sunday on Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo for "Spider-Man: A New Day," a film scheduled for release in Brazilian cinemas on July 29. Hundreds of people gathered in Spider-Man costumes and marched toward a shopping mall, where special gifts were distributed to attendees. Among the participants was Carolina, who wore a Spider-Woman outfit and said she had traveled from the opposite end of the city, joking that she "flew with spider webs but the web ran out halfway." Another attendee, Ronaldo, dressed as Peter Parker, said he heard about the event on television and did not want to miss it. A visitor named John said the children were having a good time despite the high temperatures. "Spider-Man: A New Day" is the sequel to the 2021 film "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Michael Mando, alongside Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo.
