TORONTO โ Toronto Police are investigating a shooting near the US Consulate on University Avenue, the second attack targeting the facility this year. No injuries were reported.
Officers responding to the scene found evidence that at least one round had been fired near the consulate. Surveillance footage showed a white vehicle leaving the area after the shots, police said. A security perimeter was established while investigators searched for suspects.
The consulate was previously targeted in a similar shooting in March, which also caused no casualties. An investigation into that incident remains ongoing.
Police have launched a probe to determine the identity of the shooters and the motive behind the attack. It was not immediately clear whether the two incidents are linked. No further details were immediately available.
