Iraqi PM orders probe into drone attack near Saudi embassy in Iran

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Prime Minister has ordered an investigation into a drone attack near the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Iran, according to Prime Ministry sources. The premier directed relevant security agencies to identify those responsible and take necessary measures. Investigators will examine the launch point of the drones used in the strike and how they were obtained, the sources said. Officials added that legal proceedings will be initiated once those responsible are identified. Saudi authorities condemned the attack and announced they would pursue action at the United Nations. The Iraqi government stated that Iraqi territory will not be used to launch attacks against other states and that firm steps will be taken against any violation of sovereignty.
