Al-Nassr, one of Saudi Arabia's leading football clubs, has temporarily suspended a number of its administrative and sporting files because of a financial crisis, the Saudi sports newspaper Riyadiyah reported. The cash squeeze has already affected player salaries, with some squad members receiving their June pay short. Club management is working to pay the remaining amounts, the newspaper said. Weak liquidity also brought the club's transfer activity to a standstill following the departure of Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, with the administration holding off on any formal negotiations with foreign players until the financial picture becomes clearer. Al-Nassr, preparing for the new season under Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou, won the Saudi Pro League title last season. The club is set to compete in four competitions this term: the Saudi Pro League, the King's Cup, the Saudi Super Cup and the AFC Champions League Elite. No further details on the club's financial position were immediately available.
