Muqtada al-Sadr offers condolences to Qatar over former emir's death

Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of Iraq's Sadrist Movement, sent a condolence message on Monday to the people of Qatar and the ruling Al Thani family following the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. In the message, Sadr expressed his sympathy and called for the Arab Gulf to live in security alongside its neighbors, particularly Iran, free of military bases and conflict. Sadr extended wishes of peace to Qatar and of brotherhood and harmony to Islamic and Arab nations. He also voiced support for a period defined by normalization and an end to violence, with particular emphasis on Palestine and Lebanon. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013, died in recent days, according to the statement.
