Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and its surroundings have sharply increased since the beginning of May. He said the strikes have continued almost daily during 17 days of this month, raising fresh concern over the site’s security.
Ulyanov said the attacks have wounded more than 10 people and killed three. He added that civilian, transport and energy infrastructure have also been damaged in the strikes.
The Russian diplomat said the International Atomic Energy Agency leadership should state this publicly. He did not provide further details on the incidents.
