Iran Expands Parviz Khan Border Crossing on Kurdistan Frontline

The governor of Iran’s Kermanshah province inspected the Parviz Khan border crossing with the Kurdistan Region to review infrastructure and commercial arrangements, as Tehran moves to organize border zones and strengthen its export route. The crossing is one of the main transit points for trade between Iran and Iraq. During the visit, officials reviewed progress on several key projects at the crossing with road, customs and free zone authorities. The discussions focused on operational upgrades intended to improve movement and border management. The planned work includes widening the shared bridge on the border line, resurfacing the roads leading to the crossing, and modernizing facilities designated for passengers and transit vehicles. Iran says these steps are aimed at improving the organization of border areas and reinforcing the export corridor through Parviz Khan, which remains a major gateway for commercial traffic between the two countries.
