WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is seeking a good and genuine agreement with Iran, but not one reached at any price. Speaking on the diplomatic track, Rubio said the United States remains at the table and open to negotiations with Tehran.
Rubio stressed that any agreement would need to address concerns over Iran's nuclear program, adding that Washington expects concrete steps from the Iranian side. The US will not move forward without a framework that protects American interests, he said, according to the remarks reported by Turkish outlets.
The secretary noted that negotiations are continuing through existing channels. He said Iran's nuclear activities are being monitored closely because of their implications for regional stability and global security.
