Katia Aveiro, sister of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, said the date of his reported wedding with Georgina Rodríguez has not been set, dismissing earlier reports that the ceremony would take place this year.
Speaking to Portuguese broadcaster TV 7 Dias at a hotel event where she presented a new collection of her brand "KA The Brand," Katia said she would not be wearing a wedding dress this year for herself or anyone else. Her sister Elma Aveiro added that a wedding had initially been planned but was postponed, and confirmed the couple intends to marry.
Elma also said the idea of marriage came from Rodríguez rather than Ronaldo, and denied reports that the ceremony would be held on Madeira Island. According to Elma, the main concern is that Ronaldo is happy.
Earlier reports had suggested the wedding would take place in August or September on Madeira. Katia also said she received the criticism directed at Ronaldo during the World Cup with sadness. The two sisters did not provide a new timeline for the event.
