Truck driver killed in traffic accident on highway in Anbar

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A truck driver died in a traffic accident on an international highway in Iraq's Anbar province, the Iraqi Civil Defense Directorate said. The crash occurred on the international highway near the Rutba district, according to a statement from the directorate. Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene after the report was received. Crews used hydraulic cutting and separation equipment to reach the body, which had become trapped inside the truck's cab as a result of the impact. Once the rescue operation was completed, the body was transferred to the morgue of the relevant hospital under legal procedures, the directorate added.
