Report says Kurdistan Region hit by 751 air and missile attacks

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq โ A human rights monitoring team said the Kurdistan Region was hit by 751 air and missile attacks in the past three months, leaving 22 people dead and 112 wounded. The report covered attacks carried out between Feb. 28 and May 28, 2026.
It said the intensity of the attacks increased during the first 40 days of the war, with 647 strikes recorded before the temporary cease-fire on April 8. The report said unmanned aerial vehicles were the most frequently used weapon, accounting for 78.4% of all attacks.
Erbil was the most frequently targeted area, according to the report. It said some of the attacks hit diplomatic and military U.S. facilities, while others struck civilian areas and the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish opposition parties in the Kurdistan Region.
