Iraq’s Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons has created a digital platform called Ishraq to advance projects supporting migrants and returnees. The new program is designed to coordinate the units responsible for migration and return files and turn expert proposals into implementable projects.
The platform will operate under a special mechanism set out in the ministry’s new program. It is intended to improve coordination across the ministry and help translate technical recommendations into practical measures for displaced families and people returning home.
Priority will be given to vulnerable groups registered in the ministry’s database, as well as people included in voluntary return programs. A committee established for the platform will review the submitted projects and prepare them for future implementation.
Ministry officials also plan to inspect conditions in migrant camps on site and shape the platform’s work based on those findings. The effort is aimed at aligning support projects with the actual needs of displaced communities and returnees.
