Kuwait says drone strike on residential complex contained, no casualties reported

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — Kuwaiti authorities said a fire triggered by a drone strike on a residential complex in the capital has been contained, with no civilian casualties reported. Brigadier General Mohammed Gharib, spokesperson for the General Fire Service, said crews extinguished the blaze after a drone hit the complex and confirmed there were no deaths or injuries among civilians. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said in its seventh communique that it had carried out an attack on the Ali al-Salam Air Base in Kuwait. The statement said the strike targeted a U.S. command headquarters, a commander's residence, an aircraft hangar and a drone platform, claiming a platform was burned, multiple drones were knocked out and U.S. forces stationed at the base sustained injuries. Kuwaiti officials did not address the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's claims in their statement. They reiterated only that the situation at the residential complex was under control after the fire was extinguished. No further details were immediately available.
