KIRKUK, Iraq โ The head of Kirkuk Provincial Council's Security and Defense Commission said responsibility for the districts of Tuzhurmatu and Daquq will be transferred from the Salahaddin Eastern Operations Command to the Kirkuk Operations Command.
Speaking to Shafaq News, commission chief Ahmed Remzi Koberoฤlu said units currently stationed in the two districts will be redeployed elsewhere and replaced with brigades brought from other areas. He added that the Kirkuk Operations Command will assume security responsibility for Tuzhurmatu and Daquq under the revised map.
Koberoฤlu said the change is aimed at redistributing tasks and units according to the updated security responsibility map. He did not specify a timeline for completing the redeployment, and no further details were immediately available.
