BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Commission on Public Integrity has arrested two former directors of the al-Hadser district municipality in Maysan province, along with four municipal employees, in an investigation into alleged misuse of state-owned land.
The commission said the case centers on accusations that a public property was improperly used or disposed of during the tenure of the two former municipal heads. The arrests were carried out under formal detention warrants issued by the commission, according to a source who spoke to Shafaq News.
A third former director is also reported to be under investigation in connection with the same case. The commission has not yet issued a public statement on the operation or confirmed whether further measures will be announced.
