Kidnapped man found dead in Diyala, suspect arrested

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A man kidnapped in Diyala province was found dead on Tuesday, and a suspect has been taken into custody, according to a provincial security source. The source said Zaydan Muhammad Hammad al-Sinjari was reported kidnapped a day earlier and was later found dead in the Cibare subdistrict of Kifri district. Security forces launched an investigation led by the Kifri district intelligence director and the director of the crime-fighting division, working in coordination with the Cibare subdistrict police station. The primary suspect was arrested as a result of the operation, the source said. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him, and he has been referred to the relevant authorities to clarify the circumstances of the killing and complete the inquiry.
