BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Anbar Provincial Council accepted the resignation of Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs Yasir Rashid Muhenna al-Alawi during its 12th regular session of 2026 on Tuesday, and unanimously elected him as head of the Anbar Investment Commission.
The session, chaired by Council President Hamid Diham al-Alawi, also reviewed a series of other administrative decisions. Muhenna's appointment to the investment role followed completion of legal procedures after his resignation from the deputy governor position was accepted.
Council members said administrative and legal steps required for the investment commission chairmanship had been finalized during the session. A Shafaq News correspondent reported that the decisions adopted at the meeting were recorded in the council's official minutes.
The council did not announce a successor to the deputy governor post during the session. No further details on the next steps were immediately available.
