KDP to Resume Talks After Eid to End Political Deadlock in Kurdistan Region

The Kurdistan Democratic Party said it will restart talks with political forces after Eid to break the political deadlock in the Kurdistan Region and push forward the formation of a new government. Party official Bistivan Sadiq said the move will follow Masoud Barzani’s call. Sadiq said the party is seeking, in particular, to hold a meeting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. The talks are intended to advance efforts to form the next regional government. Nearly two years after the elections in the region, the process of forming a government has still not been completed. The continued delay has left the political landscape in the Kurdistan Region unresolved.
