Karbala governor says one million housing land plots project enters final phase

KARBALA, Iraq — Karbala Governor Nasif Jassim al-Khattabi said final plans for land plots allocated to the province under Iraq's one million housing land project have been completed, clearing the way for an application process and infrastructure provision to begin. According to a governorate statement, Khattabi met with Prime Minister's Office chief Ihsan al-Awadi during a visit to discuss the project's implementation steps. The statement said the governorate delivered finalized maps for the designated areas, completed technical and administrative procedures with provincial approval, and resolved overlapping elements. Khattabi described the completion of the procedures as an important step that clears the path for applications, adding that the process will be carried out under rules and procedures set by the Prime Minister's Office. Preparations will begin to deliver infrastructure services to the allocated zones, the governorate said.
