AMMAN, Jordan โ€” The Jordanian army said it intercepted 20 missiles launched from Iran toward the Azraq area using air defense systems. In a statement, the military said only missile fragments fell to the ground and that there were no casualties or material damage. The army stressed that any violation of Jordanian airspace would not be tolerated from any side. Qatar's Foreign Ministry condemned Iran's attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a clear violation of international law. Doha called for efforts to avoid unnecessary tension in the region and to prevent further escalation. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps had announced that it struck 18 U.S. military sites, including the Ali al-Salem and Ahmed al-Jaber bases in Kuwait, the Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain, and targets in Jordan. The announcement came after new U.S. airstrikes on locations in southern Iran, marking an intensification of reciprocal military moves between Washington and Tehran. No further details on the interception or possible diplomatic responses were immediately available.
