Rizgari Hospital consultation units reopen in Erbil after renovation

ERBIL, Iraq — The consultation units of Rizgari Teaching Hospital in Erbil reopened to the public on Wednesday following the completion of maintenance and renovation work, according to the Kurdistan Region's Health Ministry. The upgrades were carried out under instructions from the Health Ministry and the Kurdistan Regional Government's Council of Ministers. Hospital Director Dr. Nur Cihan Ali told a press conference that aging systems had been repaired and new electronic systems had been installed. He said the six-story facility is currently operating at full capacity on three floors, with maintenance continuing on the remaining three. Ali said the hospital receives around 1,880 patients daily, with total visits exceeding 394,000 over the past seven months. Established in the 1980s, Rizgari is among the largest health complexes in Erbil, and the renovation is intended to expand the range of services available to patients.
