Iraq U20s beat Kuwait 1-0 in Thailand friendly ahead of Asian Cup qualifiers

CHONBURI, Thailand — Iraq's U20 national team defeated Kuwait 1-0 in a friendly match played in Chonburi, Thailand, as part of its training camp for the upcoming U20 Asian Cup qualifiers. Forward Aws Gazi scored the only goal of the game. Iraq Football Federation Executive Committee member and youth national teams delegation head Haleef Jalal attended the match. The friendly was held within the camp program organized for the Asian Cup qualifiers, which are being staged in Chonburi. Iraq will face the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan and Thailand in the group stage of the qualifiers. The squad left Baghdad on Saturday for Bangkok to begin preparations for the tournament. The U20 Asian Cup qualifiers will be hosted by Thailand at the end of the month.
