Israel's military has released three Syrian detainees from the southern Syrian provinces of Quneitra and Deraa after more than a year in custody, Syrian state television Al Ikhbariya reported.
The released detainees are from villages in the countryside of Quneitra and Deraa, according to the broadcaster. No further details about their identities or the circumstances of their detention were disclosed, and officials did not provide information on their health status.
The releases come amid repeated Israeli military operations across the Quneitra and Deraa countryside. Earlier in August, Israeli forces carried out a series of raids and house searches in the town of Rafid in southern Quneitra countryside, following ground movements by the Israeli army in the area. The continued operations have affected the security environment in the region, according to local reporting.
Al Ikhbariya did not specify when the three detainees had been initially taken into custody or under what conditions they were held.
