Iraq’s weekly crude oil shipments to the United States fell last week to 67,000 barrels a day, down by about 33,000 barrels a day from the previous week. The decline left Iraq as the eighth-largest oil supplier to the US.
Canada remained the top source of US crude imports, supplying an average of 3.79 million barrels a day during the same period. Venezuela followed with 713,000 barrels a day, Mexico with 383,000 barrels a day and Brazil with 173,000 barrels a day.
The figures highlight the scale of US reliance on imported crude even as domestic consumption remains above 20 million barrels a day. Iraq’s lower weekly export level marks a notable drop in its position within the US supply mix.
