BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih al-Zaydi visited the headquarters of the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) on Thursday for a field tour to assess its operational and administrative readiness. According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Press Office, the visit included an inspection of a display of CTS weapons, equipment and military hardware, as well as briefings from officials on the latest systems and weapons used in special operations. Al-Zaydi held a meeting with commanders, including the director of his presidential office and the CTS chief, and received a detailed briefing on the progress of operational missions, the unit's preparation levels and capacity-building plans. He met with CTS personnel, praising their role in the fight against terrorist groups and describing service members as a symbol of honor and sacrifice. The prime minister directed that the unit's high combat morale be maintained, that the care of wounded personnel continue and that they receive the best available medical treatment. He also instructed that the families of fallen fighters not be left unattended, that soldiers' physical fitness be continuously monitored, and that required weapons and equipment be provided as needed.
