BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Iraqi Council of Representatives opened the 14th session of its second legislative round on Monday, with Speaker Hebet al-Halbusi presiding over proceedings focused on recent events in the Dora area of Baghdad. Lawmakers called for the formation of a high-level investigative committee to examine the incidents and for parliament to oversee the process.
During the session, MPs also completed the first reading of three draft laws. Al-Halbusi opened the session with a general review of the legislative agenda, according to parliamentary sources.
The decisions taken in the session are intended to set out the legal framework for clarifying the circumstances surrounding the Dora events, the sources said. Further details are expected to be released through official channels.
