International construction and reconstruction fair opens in Erbil

ERBIL, Iraq — An international construction and reconstruction fair opened in Erbil on Tuesday, bringing together more than 450 companies from 20 countries. The opening ceremony was attended by Kurdistan Regional Government officials, heads of trade chambers and representatives of diplomatic missions. Officials said the four-day event aims to attract investment, support infrastructure development and stimulate economic activity across the region. Participating firms displayed sustainable energy solutions, modern building materials and smart technologies. Exhibitors included companies from Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, France, Switzerland, Qatar, Turkey, China, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Portugal, Greece, Japan, South Korea and the United States. A sales manager at one participating company described the Kurdistan Region as a promising and targeted market. Another company representative said the fair offered a direct opportunity to meet major contractors and decision-makers. Organizers expect dozens of bilateral business meetings and the signing of investment and commercial agreements during the event.
