BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Justice Minister Khalid Shwani directed the Real Estate Registration Department on Sunday to develop a comprehensive national database for residential property. The minister met with senior administrative staff to discuss methods for establishing the system and improving information management.
The proposed database is intended to consolidate accurate data on property ownership across the country. Officials stated that the project aims to support housing development plans and provide reliable data for government decision-making processes.
Shwani emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s program to prioritize land distribution for citizens without property. He further instructed the department to implement modern electronic systems and ensure that all records are kept continuously updated.
