Iraqi forward Hasan Abdulkerim set for Turkish Super Lig debut at Galatasaray

ISTANBUL, Türkiye — Iraq international Hasan Abdulkerim, known as Kukiye, is set to make his Turkish Süper Lig debut with newly promoted Çorum FK against Galatasaray in the opening match of the 2026–2027 season. The fixture will be played at Rams Park in Istanbul on Friday at 21:30 local time. Abdulkerim joined Çorum at the start of the season after parting ways with Iraqi side Air Force Club (Ezur Spor Kulübü) in May, where he had played since 2022. He completed his medical checks and joined Çorum's pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign. The forward began his career at Karkh Sports Club before moving to Air Force Club, where he became a regular for Iraq's senior national team and drew attention with performances at both domestic and continental level. Friday's visit to Galatasaray, a regular presence in European competitions, will give the Iraqi his first chance to test himself against top-flight opposition in Turkey. Çorum's coaching staff are expected to use the opener to assess the squad ahead of the season.
