SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq โ€” Final Check, a company operating in the Kurdistan Region, said it will file a lawsuit against Ali Hama Salih, a member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament and spokesperson for the National Stance Movement, over his recent allegations against the firm. The company's lawyer, Rihฤฑl Celil, told a press conference in Sulaymaniyah that the company rejects all of Salih's claims and intends to pursue legal action. Celil firmly denied that Final Check has any connection to the office of Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, calling the claim unfounded. He described the multi-million-dollar revenue figures cited by Salih as "imaginary," saying the company charges $20 per lock and does not levy separate fees for each lock. The lawyer also accused Salih of exerting pressure on the company, stating that Final Check does not pay bribes to any individual or institution and will not submit to pressure. Salih had said on his social media account that Final Check is linked to Qubad Talabani's office, generates millions of dollars from inspecting gas pipes and cylinders, and has driven 35 companies in Sulaymaniyah into bankruptcy.
