Iraqi Forces Down Balloon Carrying Drugs Toward Kuwait

Iraqi security forces in Basra shot down a balloon that was moving toward Kuwaiti territory and was said to be carrying drugs. Border police units detected the aerial target coming from inside Iraq in the Khidr al-Ma area. The balloon was disabled after coordination was carried out with the Kuwaiti side through a liaison officer. Authorities said the balloon contained bags of narcotics, which were scattered on the Kuwaiti side after the target was hit.
