BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A child died on Wednesday at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Iraq's Anbar province, prompting the family to call for an investigation into possible medical negligence. The girl's father said she was not examined by a CT scanner on Tuesday because the device was faulty, and he urged authorities to clarify the circumstances and identify those responsible.
A source at the Anbar Health Directorate said the negligence claim could not be confirmed at this stage and that the cause of death had not yet been determined. The same source said the body had not been transferred to the forensic medicine authority, pending an effort to establish the precise cause of death.
The official added that a medical review would determine whether negligence or error played a role. No further details were immediately available.
