Erbil signs Mustafa Walid as Iraq Stars League transfer activity continues

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Erbil has signed Mustafa Walid from Air Force as Iraqi clubs continue preparations for the new Iraq Stars League season. Karkh, meanwhile, terminated the contracts of Swedish player Joseph Bavo and Nigerian player Jack Diori for technical reasons. Erbil midfielder Hummam Tariq will miss the club’s matches against Air Force and Karkh because of injury. El-Shorta goalkeeper Hassan Ahmed has returned to training alongside Jala Hassan, while the club is considering terminating the contract of Nigerian player Fidelis Koko. Iraq international Ali Jasim spoke positively about Zakho and its supporters. During the summer transfer window, Shirzod Temirov moved in a 1.6 billion dinar deal, followed by Akam Hashim, Ali Jasim and Paul Farin Bassin in agreements worth 1.5 billion dinar each.
