Iraqi Electricity Minister, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Discuss Energy Cooperation

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Minister of Electricity Ali Saadi Wehib met with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Joshua Harris in Baghdad on Monday, June 1, 2026, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the electricity sector. The Ministry of Electricity stated that the meeting focused on supporting ministry operations through the involvement of American companies active in the energy field. Both parties also reviewed the expansion of technical and investment cooperation, as well as the progress of joint projects. According to the ministry, these efforts aim to contribute to the development of the energy sector and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
