BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Border Crossings Authority has held talks with a Turkish delegation, backed by Saudi support, on raising the country's annual transit truck capacity to 1 million vehicles. The meeting reviewed options for expanding logistics capacity and speeding up border crossing procedures, according to the authority.
Officials said the discussions also covered the activation of trade corridors between Iraq and Turkey and stronger integration into regional trade networks. They described Saudi Arabia's backing for logistics infrastructure as a factor that would strengthen operational capacity at the border crossings.
The two sides agreed to continue technical consultations in the coming weeks. No further details on implementation timelines were immediately available.
