BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Transport Minister Vehb Selman Muhammed al-Husseini has removed four general directors from the state-owned Public Marine Transport Company and appointed replacements, according to a document signed by the minister.
The changes were made “for the requirements of work,” the document said. Yasin Abdulhussein Hamid was removed from the insurance department and replaced by Ahmed Casim Muhammed Shari.
Hussein Karim Dawud’s post in the contracts department, Haidar Semed Hamud’s role in the marine agencies department and Ali Hadi Abdulabbas’s position in the commercial department were also terminated.
Those posts were filled by, respectively, Muhammad Ali Abdulrida Zair, Adi Faraj Aziz and Muhammad Abdul Amir Abdulkarim. The minister had previously ordered the removal of Farhan al-Fartusi as director general of the Iraq Ports Company and appointed Alaa Abdulhassan Ali Ubaid al-Ukaili as acting director general.
