Gunman kills one, wounds three in attack on Israeli outpost near Nablus

A gunman opened fire on an Israeli military post at the Havat Gilad settlement in the northern West Bank on Friday, killing one Israeli and wounding three others. The Israeli army imposed a siege on the nearby city of Nablus and the town of Tal following the attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said he would hold an emergency meeting with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. Netanyahu said Israel would act decisively against the attackers and their supporters and would not allow terrorism to re-emerge in the West Bank. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said he would order the military to demolish the attackers' homes. Ben-Gvir argued that West Bank assailants and their cities and villages should be treated the same as Beit Hanoun in Gaza.
