Iraq's Naft Al-Shamal loses 9-0 to Saudi Al-Nassr in West Asia Women's Championship

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's women's football club Naft Al-Shimal was beaten 9-0 by Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr at the West Asia Women's Clubs Championship, played on open pitches. Naft Al-Shimal is representing Iraq in the third edition of the tournament and will next face Syria's Hilal in its second group match. The group-stage fixture is scheduled for Saturday, August 1. Iraq's participating club is also part of a broader field competing in the women's club tournament organized at the regional level. Iraqi international assistant referee Mohammed Luei Sabhi has been appointed to work the match between Jordan and Lebanon's Beirut Academy at the same tournament. The assignment was made by the West Asian Football Federation.
