BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani's planned visit to Saudi Arabia has been postponed following recent attacks, Iraqi government spokesperson Bassem al-Awadi said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, al-Awadi said the decision to delay the trip was taken in light of the attacks recorded in recent days, without specifying which incidents were being referenced. He did not provide a new date for the visit and offered no further detail on when it would be rescheduled.
The postponement comes against the backdrop of ongoing security tensions in Iraq and a period of active diplomatic engagement between Baghdad and Riyadh. The spokesperson said the issue would remain under discussion between the two sides.
No further details were immediately available.
