BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Interior Ministry has opened applications for the 13th cohort of male cadets at its Police Commissioners Preparatory Institute, the ministry's Volunteer Directorate announced. Electronic applications will be accepted from July 21 to July 27, 2026, through the ministry's official website.
Eligible candidates are high school graduates from the 2022-2023 through 2025-2026 academic years residing in any Iraqi province outside the Kurdistan Region. Ministry employees are exempt from the geographic restriction. Applicants must be between 16 and 21 years old, hold a high school diploma with at least a 65 percent grade average, stand at least 160 centimeters tall and have a chest measurement of at least 70 centimeters.
Candidates must also pass health, physical fitness and psychological assessments, succeed in an interview and have no convictions for serious crimes. Those admitted will be required to commit to at least six years of service after graduation and to serve in any province across the country.
Applicants in preferential categories, including relatives of security force martyrs and children of officers and ministry personnel, will be asked to submit additional documentation. Successful applicants will be notified of exam dates by text message, the ministry said.
