TEHRAN, Iran โ Iran's Armed Forces said oil exports must be available to all countries or to none, with a spokesman declaring the United States has no right to intervene in the Strait of Hormuz. Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami Nia, the Armed Forces spokesman, told reporters that if the United States targets Iran's infrastructure, all infrastructure in the region will become a target for Iran.
Akrami Nia said Iran is deployed to secure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and has designated the northern route as a secure corridor. He accused the United States of forcing ships onto different routes and warned that any new war would draw a harder and more comprehensive response from Iran than the previous conflict.
Separately, the United States Central Command announced a new wave of airstrikes against Iran, marking the fifth consecutive night of operations. The command said the latest wave began at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, or 9:00 p.m. Baghdad time.
