Iraq's Counter-Terrorism chief issues new directives to unit commanders

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The head of Iraq's Counter-Terrorism Service, Lt. Gen. Zaid Hawshi al-Musavi, issued new directives on Monday to commanders and officers of the unit during a meeting at its headquarters. According to a service statement, the meeting reviewed key security developments and assessed the progress of operational tasks, while also examining preparations for facing various challenges and maintaining a high state of readiness. Al-Musavi stressed the importance of sustaining the highest levels of discipline and readiness and strengthening coordination between formations and units. The service said the directives are intended to improve field performance and ensure missions are carried out professionally. The commander praised the efforts of service members across their areas of responsibility and commended work contributing to the protection of citizens' safety. He instructed that the needs of fighters be met as a core priority, and directed that wounded personnel and the families of fallen members be looked after and their needs addressed.
