Iraq's federal police chief inspects units across Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Federal Police Commander Lt. Gen. Mohammed Qasim al-Fahd conducted a field inspection tour on Wednesday of several units under the Federal Police Command in Baghdad, the command said. The tour covered the 20th Brigade headquarters, the 2nd Mechanized Brigade headquarters and the 2nd Battalion of the 19th Brigade in the Husseiniya district. During the visits, al-Fahd received briefings from unit commanders on the distribution of security forces across their areas of responsibility, operational arrangements and coordination with other security agencies. He stressed the role of the Federal Police in maintaining security and stability across the capital. The commander directed troops to maintain high discipline, vigilance and readiness against attempts to disrupt public order. He also ordered that logistical, technical and organizational needs be addressed to sustain combat preparedness and morale. According to the statement, the field performance of the units will continue to be monitored as part of ongoing measures to strengthen security in Baghdad.
