Over 31,000 sixth-grade students in Nineveh sit end-of-term exams

MOSUL, Iraq โ More than 31,800 sixth-grade students across Nineveh province began sitting their second-semester final exams on Saturday, the provincial directorate of education said. Mohammed Ibrahim Abboudi, Nineveh's director of education, said the exams were administered at 176 centers set up across the province's districts and sub-districts.
Abboudi said all logistical and technical preparations had been completed to ensure the exams proceed smoothly, with students distributed across the centers equipped for the test period.
Separately, Iraq's Ministry of Education announced that the 2026-2027 academic year, due to begin on September 20, is expected to enroll roughly 1.2 million students in first grade.
