BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zeydi presided on Sunday over a handover ceremony at Iraq's Central Bank, where Nizar Nasser Hussein took over as governor from his predecessor, Ali Mohsen al-Allak.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Press Office, al-Zeydi stressed the need to continue banking reform programs and accelerate efforts to achieve financial stability and create an investment-friendly economic environment. He also called for keeping pace with global digital transformation and applying international standards in monetary policy.
Al-Allak's efforts during his tenure were commended at the ceremony. Al-Zeydi announced that al-Allak has been appointed as an economic adviser to the Prime Minister's Office. Officials also reiterated the importance of completing strategic programs to strengthen institutional performance.
